The Glovers welcome Newport County on Saturday (3pm) in Sky Bet League Two, looking to get back to winning ways after a run of defeats.

Facing an Exiles side without a win in their last seve, Bournemouth loanee Surridge is aiming to kick-start a strong conclusion to the season.

“They’ve been on a bit of a dip and we’ve lost the last three now but we were unfortunate to lose to Carlisle and Stevenage was a freak result so we’ll try to get back to winning ways on Saturday at home and build momentum from there.

“When we’re at home it’s about how we play so we’ll look at what they can do but more so on what we can do.

“We’re always strong at home and believe we can beat anyone at home so three points is a must on Saturday,” he told iFollow Glovers.

After arriving on a season-long loan back in the summer, the 19-year-old has featured 45 times for Town netting on eight occasions.

Starting the last three league outings, Surridge is keen to push on in the remaining 12 games of the season having become a regular.

“I wanted to come and score goals and play games and I’ve played the most games now,” he said. “I didn’t expect that but it shows the gaffer trusts me and I want to repay him with performances. He trusts me and I trust him.

“I want to play all the games until the end of the season and score as many goals as I can to finish up as high as we can.

“I want to go on a run before the end of season. I know it will come so I want to score on Saturday and do well until the end of the season.”
