9th March 2018

The weekend’s action will be Town’s first in the league since hosting Carlisle two weeks previous, with Darren Way’s side looking to return to winning ways.

The Green & Whites travelled to Shropshire in midweek to take on Shrewsbury in the Checkatrade Trophy semi-final, but a narrow defeat to the League One high flyers sees Yeovil return to Somerset with League Two now their sole focus.

Town now know they’ll be without the services of Jake Gray (ankle) for the remainder of the season, joining Artur Krysiak, Nathan Smith, Dan Alfei and James Bailey (all knee).

Southampton loanee Marcus Barnes returned to training this week following a lengthy layoff but will have to wait and see whether Saturday’s match comes too soon.

However, the Glovers will be able to pick Francois Zoko after the Ivorian returned from a two-match suspenion at the New Meadow in midweek.

Heading across the bridge to Somerset, Newport will be searching for a first league win in eight.

Mike Flynn’s side have drawn their last three outings, with their last league victory coming over Crawley in the middle of January.

The Welsh outfit will make the trip with two familiar faces in the form of former Yeovil players Matty Dolan and Ben Tozer.

Head-to-head
Yeovil will be looking to continue their 100% record over County.

The Glovers have won both of the previous league meetings at Huish Park by the same 1-0 scoreline, with Dan Butler’s own goal gifting Town the win last season.

Jack Compton netted the winning penalty in the same fixture towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

Officials
Lee Collins (Surrey) will be the man in the middle on Saturday.

It will be his second trip to Huish Park of the season having overseen Lincoln’s 2-0 win back in December.

Mr Collins will be assisted by Paul Hobday (West Midlands) and Darren Wilding (Worcestershire) with Mark Whaley acting as fourth official.
