Home teams couldn’t be beaten in midweek but can an away team end the streak as we head into another action packed weekend in the Sky Bet Championship. Read on for Sky Bet’s take on Yeovil’s chances this weekend.
Yeovil put in a good performance in midweek, as they were unfortunate not to add to the point they picked up at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
In recent years promoted teams have had some impressive results against relegated teams. Since 2011/12 promoted teams have won eight and lost just four of their matches when hosting relegated sides. While they might be big underdogs against the Championship favourites, there is every chance Yeovil could cause an upset. QPR are missing Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson, and have not netted more than once since the opening day. Given this, The Glovers look too big to ignore at 10/11 in the on the double chance market.
That lack of goals for QPR has of course been compensated for by conceding just two goals all season. Therefore we shouldn’t expect too many fireworks. Yeovil’s three home games, and QPR’s three away, have collectively averaged just 1.5 goals per game. Therefore under 2.5 goals looks a great price at 8/11.
Other reasons to bet:
Both teams have scored in just two of Yeovil’s seven games 4/5
Yeovil have had more goals in the second half in five of their last seven matches 11/10
Yeovil have been level at half-time in four of their last seven matches 11/10
