Looking to the future, Mills saw room to improve, when he said. “On or off the field we aim to improve, so expect more emedia innovation from us in the future!”

“However, I would like to pay particular thanks to our Media and Communications Manager Ali King who does a fabulous job of running the website (even when he is on holiday in New Zealand!), and Joint First Team Manager Sarah Lawler, who does a lot of the work that appears on Twitter. Without Ali and Sarah’s efforts we would not have won today.”

“The Club Digital strategy is a real team effort, as for instance, apart from the First/Reserve Team Managers writing articles for the website, the Youth Team Managers do the same and this really does boost the variety of articles on offer for our fans via our electronic media platforms.

Commenting on the amazing success, Club Chairman David Mills said, “Considering we were up against FAWSL (Super League) clubs with vastly more resources than us, this really is a stunning success. We work hard to create a range of what we hope are engaging digital options and apart from our Website, we are now on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ Flickr and YouTube.

The nomination to the Football Association was made on the back of the club’s many online networks, and its ‘Don’t forget your camera’ campaign, (Where the club encouraged supporters to bring their cameras to the last home game of last season), which was an entirely digital based project which aimed to (and delivered) a unique fan experience, as well as enhancing the club’s digital profile. The FA went on to say, “To quote another club directly “WSL clubs take note of what Yeovil Ladies are doing."

The club, who were crowned South West Combination and County Cup champions in 2012, were awarded the National Respect Gold award for the English ladies football pyramid at the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in May. Today’s announcement is the icing on the cake for a great year for the female Glovers, and is a massive pat on the back for all involved with the club, all of whom give their hard work and time for nothing more than the satisfaction of seeing the club progress.

THE Football Associated Ladies Digitalhave  announced that Yeovil Town Ladies have won another national award, with the news that the club have won the Digital Award at the FA Women’s Football Awards in London.
