Midfielder Joe Edwards is hoping for another afternoon like last season’s play-off semi-final second leg when the Glovers entertain Huddersfield at Huish Park on Monday.

Yeovil famously overturned a 1-0 deficit against Sheffield United in front of a positively pulsating atmosphere to reach the play-off final at Wembley.

Almost a year later, Town find themselves battling to keep their Championship status and Edwards states the crowd could still have a part to play.

“The fans have been with us the whole season and you can’t fault them, they’ve been home and away.

“If we can create an atmosphere sort of like that Sheffield United game that would be brilliant and it would give the lads a boost. Hopefully we can put in a performance like that and get the result on Monday.”

The Glovers drew 0-0 at Blackburn on Friday and still remain five points from safety, but the box-to-box midfielder believes a win against The Terriers could make the teams around them nervous.

“Seeing the effort here no one believes that we’re down yet so we’ll give that 110% every game and if we get that win on Monday it gives us every chance.

“Maybe a few teams who thought we were dead and buried may start looking up at us and start getting a bit nervous and wonder what’s going to happen. If we get that win on Monday it will be massive for us and we’ll be able to go into the next two games with confidence.”
