Yeovil Town are pleased to announce that they have signed Bristol City defender Joe Edwards on an 18 month contract.

Edwards, who has spent two loans spells with club, will go straight into the squad to play Preston North End.

22 year old Edwards was born in Gloucester and signed professional forms with Bristol City in 2009.

He has made four full appearances for the Bristol City first team and also spent loan spells at Bath City, where he played 10 games and Stockport where he played 11 games,  before his association with Yeovil began with his first loan spell at Huish Park in early 2012 when he scored on his debut against Tranmere Rovers.

Joe returned to Bristol City after making 4 full appearances and one as substitute before returning again this season where he has made 16 appearances.

Commenting on the signing manager Gary Johnsosn said:  “I am really pleased that Joe has signed for Yeovil Town. It is far better playing first team football for a lower league team than sitting on the bench and getting no football.

“I believe Joe has a great future and I am very happy that Joe has chosen to further his career at Huish Park.”
