Yeovil Town travel to Meadow Lane for the first time since returning to the National League on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

In what is the first of a double header against the Magpies, Darren Sarll will be hoping his side can bounce back from late defeat against Bromley on Tuesday evening.

The hosts will be hoping to hold onto their play-off spot, currently sitting in seventh place but with two games in hand on the teams around them.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

The boss looked ahead to Saturday’s trip in his weekly press conference: “It’s been so long since we’ve played them. They brought in some good players in the Summer, Jake Reeves in particular who is a former apprentice of mine. He’s a Football League player really.

“They’re in a strong position and they’ll be hoping they can still catch the top two. It’s a proper ground with a big pitch and I’m hoping it’s going to be a game of football rather than the crash, bang, wallop that we’ve dealt with of late.”

Team News

Yeovil Town’s squad looks largely unchanged from Tuesday night’s side that faced Bromley.

Sarll recently confirmed that Luke Wilkinson will likely be out until April now whilst Josh Staunton and Lawson D’Ath continue their recoveries.

Emmanuel Sonupe is also getting closer to a return after his long-term absence due to injury.

A foot in the opposition camp

After play-off heartbreak last season, Neil Ardley has promotion aspirations once again for the Magpies. Ardley has been at the helm at Meadow Lane since November 2018 following a six-year spell with AFC Wimbledon where he guided The Dons to League Two play-off victory in the 15/16 season.

Reuben Rodrigues is the man to look out for within the County side. The 24-year-old Portuguese ventured to Nottingham in the Summer transfer window after plying his trade in The Netherlands. Clearly a talented player, Rodrigues has just three goals in the league so far this season but provides a creative outlet for the likes of Kyle Wootton to supply the finishing touch.
