The Ivorian forward, who joined the Glovers in November 2015, is out of contract at the end of the campaign and has expressed his desire to sign a new deal ahead of Town’s match against his former club Stevenage.

Boss Darren Way says he has held contract talks with a few of his squad and Zoko hopes to put pen to paper in the near future.

“The gaffer knows my position as I’ve been clear,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“I’m at the end of my contract here so hopefully we can find a way of continuing the adventure with Yeovil.

“I look forward to that but we’ll see as this is football and sometimes things don’t happen how you want.

“My first choice is Yeovil so it’s in their hands to find an agreement and if it happens everything will be fine.

“I’m an optimist and I’m positive we can find an agreement for next year. If this happens, I’ll be really excited because we struggled last year, this year a little bit less, and next year will be really different.”

Zoko believes his first full season in Somerset has been just “okay” despite being the club’s top scorer in all competions.

The 33-year-old has 13 goals to his name – a statistic he contests after his strike at Portsmouth was chalked off and classed as an Enda Steven’ own goal.

“I’ve got fourteen – it’s hard to score you know!” he joked.

“I picked up an injury in pre-season then had to wait to get fit. I started to get back into the team at the end of October and my season started from then. It’s been okay.”

He continued: “I don’t seasonal targets but I have targets I try and hit every month because I can still improve.

“I’m 33 so I can still learn and improve things in football. It helps me stay hungry and perform for my team.”

Tickets for the final home game of the season against Stevenage remain on sale. Junior tickets are FREE! For more information, please call 01935 847888.
