With less than a fortnight until their big debut performance on the pitch at Huish Park Stadium, the Yeovil Town FC Girlband are ‘looking and sounding sensational’.

The Glovers caused a stir back in November, when they announced that they were collaborating with a music industry company to produce an all singing, all dancing girlband, who would act as new age cheerleaders for the Somerset team. The controversial project has evoked strong and divided opinions amongst the Yeovil Town FC fanbase, but despite this, officials from both Huish Park Stadium and The Famous Company insist that the scheme is to increase revenue and exposure for the club, as well as raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, at no financial cost to Yeovil Town.

Auditions were held in early December, and despite a low numbered turn out, Project Manager Polly Maclennan insisted ‘we are looking for quality not quantity – and we are very impressed by the standard who have attended this evening’.

The charity single has been recorded, and will be released on iTunes during early Spring. The four beautiful singer / dancers have had complete style transformations, and are set to have their identities, band name and track revealed on Thursday 6th February.

Until then, we have been provided with a teaser shot of the Yeovil Town Girlband – they are looking pretty phenomenal from here!
