Commercial Manager Dave Linney said: "The day was a great success. We had 25 teams taking part, which is the most we have had in the four years we have been running the golf day.

I would like to thank Thatchers for sponsoring the day and thanks also to everyone at Sherborne Golf Club for their wonderful hospitality."

The winning team was Regency Preservation Rockets, who had ‘bandit’ Kevin Dawson in their team. Kevin claims he had never played before and even arrived with no clubs. He and his team each won a golf bag, all Kevin needs now is a set of clubs!

Second place was Brothers United who had striker James Hayter in their team and third was Morson International who had Sam Foley on their team.

Top scoring celebrity was former player Rob Cousins. Nearest the pin challenge winners were Bob Barrow, Dave Grinter and Michael Stone.
