The 22-year-old committed his future to Town by penning a two-year contract, ensuring his Green and White status until the summer of 2019.

Maddison got his first taste of senior action in the Checkatrade Trophy last season, before taking over from Artur Krysiak for the final five games of the league campaign, keeping one clean sheet.

The former Leicester City stopper produced a man of the match display as the Glovers secured safety against Stevenage and is relishing the chance to show more of his capabilities next year.

“I’m delighted to commit my future for another two years and I’m excited to be back for the coming season,” he told YTFC.net.

“The gaffer (Darren Way) always talks about opportunity and for a young goalkeeper, it’s something you must thrive off – game time. I believe the gaffer and this football club can give me that.

“Next season and in the future I hope to show off my full potential to the football club, contribute in the best possible way to aid their success and become the club’s number one.”
