Members including Commanding Officer Tim Berry, Lieutenant Commander Vince Owen and six of the ship’s personnel were present at Town’s victory against Plymouth Argyle, with the two parties exchanging gifts at half-time.
One of eight Type 23 Frigates, HMS Somerset’s job over the last two years has been patrolling the North Atlantic with NATO partners, protecting sensitive waters around the UK.
After initially planning to visit Town before the postponed Sky Bet League Two clash with Crawley in November, crew members were able to attend the match with the ship currently docked in Plymouth before resuming its patrol.
Yeovil Town Football Club are excited to continue the partnership with HMS Somerset and look forward to welcoming them back to Huish Park in the future.
