24th September 2019

The green and whites have picked up maximum points in each of their last five outings, seeing off Solihull Moors on Saturday to continue their best run of form since February 2013.

Luke Wilkinson’s second half strike was enough to leave Damson Park with victory as the Glovers now head to Hampshire for a second away match in succession.

They’ll head to Aldershot with a new goalkeeper between the sticks, with Adam Smith ready to make his debut after joining on loan from Forest Green Rovers on Monday.

Whoever else finds joins him out on the pitch will likely face a former Glover in the form of Alefe Santos – the midfielder spent two seasons at Huish Park before departing for pastures new in the summer.

Head-to-head

Tuesday’s encounter will be the first between the two sides since 1998 and first competitive meeting since 1955.

The green and whites last met the Shots in a friendly ahead of the 1998/99 campaign, coming away with a 3-1 defeat.

In fact, the Glovers’ last win against Aldershot came in 1932 when goals from Pemberton and Rankin securing a 2-0 win.

Officials

Gary Parsons will be the man in the middle in Hampshire.

It’ll be his fifth match of the campaign having so far awarded 12 yellow cards in 2019/20.

He’ll be assisted by Paul Evans and Andy Bennett with Shelby Elson acting as fourth official.
