12th August 2019

After a win and a draw at Huish Park against Eastleigh and Stockport County respectively, Darren Sarll’s side will now look to extend the start of their unbeaten run with back-to-back away fixtures.

Ahead of Saturday’s televised clash with Barrow, the green and whites will first head to Kent to take on Garry Hill’s side with two new additions for company.

Experienced midfielder Charlie Lee and young goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski are both likely to make the matchday squad with Liam Driscoll also returning to parent club Reading to conclude a busy start to the week with transfers.

The Fleet are still searching for their first points of the campaign after suffering three defeats in a row so far in 2019/20, losing 1-0 at AFC Fylde last time out which you can read about here

Head-to-head

The midweek meeting will be the first between the two sides since Gravesend & Northfleet were renamed Ebbsfleet United in 2007.

Last facing each other in the Glovers’ 2002/03 Conference winning campaign, a hat-trick from Andy Lindegaard (below) and a Kirk Jackson strike earnt Gary Johnson’s side a 4-2 win at Stonebridge Road (now known as Kuflink Stadium).

Meeting on the opening day of the season in the reverse fixture, Nick Crittenden and Terry Skiverton were on target in a 2-2 draw in a match primarily remembered for a broken leg sustained by Adam Stansfield.

Carl Brook will be the man in the middle in Kent, taking charge of his latest National League fixture.

Mr Brook awarded two red cards to Notts County on the opening day as they lost 1-0 at Eastleigh.

He’ll be assisted by Ryan Head and Martyn Holmes with Ian Fissenden acting as fourth official.
