The 13-year-old from Somerset has put pen to paper on a deal with the Glovers that will see him wear the number one jersey at Huish Park and immediately join up with Darren Way and the first team squad. 

Daryl has previously played for Whitchurch in Bristol and Frome Town Youth before bravely battling a rare form of leukaemia after diagnosis in April 2015.

The Frome-based ‘keeper came to the attention of the Gaffer after conceding just one goal in the Whitchurch Tournament in Bristol prior to 2015, forming the foundation for his Whitchurch side to lift the trophy. 

Diagnosed with Leukaemia Atypical CML Monomonasomie 7 and GATA 2, Daryl is possibly the only child in the UK to have had this very rare condition. After an unsuccessful bone marrow transplant last year, the Allinson family had to fundraise £100,000 to fund and support Daryl through a second transplant. 

Branded a ‘100% success’ by doctors, Daryl is now at home recovering and able to return his focus to football, leading to the Glovers pouncing for his signature ahead a host of other clubs including Daryl’s boyhood team, Chelsea. 

Town manager Darren Way was delighted with the latest addition to his squad. 

“I’ve been looking to bring Daryl in for some time following his performances on the pitch, but in recent times his determination, bravery and attitude during a difficult period has been inspiring. 

“Daryl is a fantastic role model for everyone and a shining example of what positivity and fortitude can achieve. 

“I’m pleased to add Daryl to the squad and he’ll challenge Artur Krysiak and Jonny Maddison for a starting spot here at Huish Park – starting today, where he’ll have his first training session with us.”
