Town suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cambridge United on the road in midweek despite a battling performance and now head to the Hive looking for a return to winning ways.

Way has taken the Glovers to Barnet twice in the past, both proving to be memorable visits with two late strikes earning a 4-3 win and 2-2 draw.

Although the Bees are on an eight-game unbeaten run, the Town boss remains wary of their threats.

“Every game is difficult,” he told iFollow Glovers. “They have some quick players on the counter-attack and are good in the one-v-one.

“I think they miss (John) Akinde, I did say that when we played them previously. The amount of goals he adds to the team is phenomenal so I think they’ll be missing him.

“Having said that, we’ve got to make sure our players are prepared, we focus on the process not the outcome and go there in good spirits.”

Away from focusing on Saturday’s opponents, Way is looking for his young side to start translating their ever growing experience in League Two into results.

“I say experience builds their mindset. I think the group are improving, every individual that we’ve got in the group is starting to understand – certainly the newer ones and the loanees –  what League Two is all about.

“It’s completely different and is relentless at the same time, so with all the experience they’re gaining it’ll come soon.

“With that, there’s no better place to do it than at Barnet where I would say I’ve got some of my best memories as a manager certainly with the supporters as well.”
