9th December 2019

Yeovil Town travel to Chesterfield on Tuesday evening (7:45pm), for the first League meeting outside the Football League.

With ten-man Town returning to winning ways on Saturday after beating Halifax, Tuesday’s rearranged clash offers a chance to climb up to second place with a win.

Hosts Chesterfield have surprised many with their form this season, despite being tipped by many for promotion, they sit in 23rd place, only ahead of bottom-placed Chorley on goal difference.

Darren Sarll will have more players to choose from at the Protact Stadium with the likes of Remeao Hutton and Tom Bradbury returning from suspension.

Head-to-head

This will be the first league meeting between the two sides taking place outside the Football League.

Our last trip to the Protact Stadium in September 2017 was an enjoyable one. Goals from Olufela Olomola, Otis Khan and James Bailey were enough for a 2-3 victory, and to take the three points back to Somerset.

The first ever meeting with Chesterfield came in an FA Cup third round clash in 1950, where Yeovil were defeated 3-1 at Chesterfield’s old ground, Saltergate.

Officials

Lee Collins (not our captain!) will be the man in the middle on Tuesday night. This will be his second Yeovil game this season having previously taken charge of our trip to Aldershot.

The linesmen will be Adam Ricketts and Harrison Blair with Stacey Pearson acting as the fourth official.
