18th April 2019

With two games in the space of four days over the Bank Holiday weekend, Town’s survival hopes could be shaped significantly.

Neale Marmon’s side currently sit two points from safety but will hope to build on their dramatic point last time out on the road.

The green and whites claimed a 1-1 draw at Swindon thanks to Adel Gafaiti’s last-gasp header and will now look to go one better on their latest travels.

Searching for a first win in eight, Omar Sowunmi (ankle) is back and available for selection to leave only Rhys Browne (hamstring) and Josh Grant (achilles) unavailable.

Declaring his team news, Marmon also revealed Francois Zoko is likely to return to the matchday squad after an impressive week’s training.

Whoever lines up in Cheshire will be up against a Crewe side firmly in mid-table.

Away from the play-off push and safe from a basement battle, David Artell’s side will be playing with different motivation to Town.

However, the Railwaymen saw off Notts County 3-0 last time out at Alexandra Stadium and will look to see off another relegation-threatened side this time around.

Head-to-head
Friday will be the 16th encounter between the two sides.

The Glovers are undefeated in their last five outings against the Alex and have come away from Cheshire with at least a point from thier last two visits.

Last season’s 0-0 draw followed on from 2016/17’s 1-0 win, where Matty Dolan provided the difference with a pinpoint free-kick.

Officials
The referee in charge will be Eddie Ilderton on Good Friday.

It will be his first match of the campaign involving the green and whites, having taken charge of 13 games previously this season.

He oversaw two Town games last season, the 6-2 win at Coventry and 1-1 draw at Lincoln City on the final day.

He’ll be assisted by Anthony Moore and Thomas Harty with Ian Smedley acting as fourth official.
