30th August 2019

Goals from Rhys Murphy and Matt Worthington weren’t enough for Darren Sarll’s side to leave Dagenham & Redbridge with a share of the spoils as a third straight defeat was inflicted.

Now heading back to Somerset, the green and whites will look to make home advantage count against a Magpies side who are unbeaten in four.

Monday’s 5-1 demolition of Chorley at Meadow Lane ended a run of two straight draws as maximum points were achieved in style.

Providing a boost for the hosts ahead of the weekend’s clash, newest recruit Gold Omotayo – forced to miss the last two outings whilst awaiting league clearance – is in line to make his debut.

The Swiss striker signed last weekend on a free transfer from Bury and will look to make the perfect start to life as a Glover when Neal Ardley’s side visit.

Head-to-head

County suffered the same fate as the Glovers in 2018/19 by suffering relegation from the EFL.

Meeting 18 times in either League One or League Two, the Magpies have won just one of their nine visits to Huish Park, coming in 2005.

The green and whites have nine wins from the 19 encounters overall, with Tom James and Alex Dobre securing a 2-0 win on home soil back in January.

Paul Howard will take charge of Saturday’s match.

It will be his third National League match of the season, having so far awarded one red card and six yellow cards.

In Somerset, he’ll be assisted by Christopher Myatt and Matthew Scholes with Martin Peters acting as fourth official.
