31st December 2017

Town host Crawley Town on New Year’s Day (3pm) looking to build on their previous home outing against Exeter City – a 3-1 win.

Jake Gray and Omar Sowunmi both bagged their second league goals over the Christmas period at the Globe Arena while Otis Khan scored his 10th goal of the campaign with a beauty.

Midfielder Gray’s strike came inside a minute and the Glovers will hope for another fast start at Huish Park against a Crawley side who are three points above Yeovil in Sky Bet League Two.

Harry Kewell’s men are 13th in the away form table having won, lost and drawn four alike.

Recently, the Red Devils recorded an impressive 3-2 victory at high-flying Accrington Stanley.

Their last match of 2017 ended with three points but their form in December was inconsistent (W3 L2).

Forward Jordan Roberts is Crawley’s top scorer with six goals while experienced Jimmy Smith also provides a threat alongside Enzio Boldewijn.

Head-to-head
Crawley’s last trip to Huish Park ended in a humiliating defeat.

Town ran out 5-0 winners in a brilliant display; Otis Khan delivered two goals and assists to boot.

It added to a run of five wins in a row for the Glovers but in their last two outings at Crawley, they have lost 2-0.

Officials
Brett Huxtable (Devon) will take charge of the Sky Bet League Two clash.

In his 23 games this season, he has awarded 79 yellow cards and four reds – three of which have come in his last three matches.

The official was in charge of Yeovil’s 2-1 win over Plymouth Argyle in the Checkatrade Trophy this term. He also refereed Crawley’s 3-0 win at Swindon Town back in August

Huxtable will be assisted by Kevin Morris (Herefordshire) and Ron Ganfield (Somerset) will be his assistants, with Savvas Yianni (Somerset) acting as fourth official.
