The visitors took the lead in the ninth minute through Jayden Stockley and had it pretty much all their own way in the first half.

Coming out for the second half rejuvenated, the Glovers were soon level thanks to Jordan Green, before Alex Fisher scored 13 minutes later to complete the turnaround.

However, it wasn’t to be for the green and whites as Stockley grabbed a second to seal a 2-2 draw.

Despite being held to a draw, Town’s boss praised the manner in which his side turned the match around into their favour.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers he said: “In times of adversity, you always want players to be brave and show courage and show a fight back.

“I thought during the second half, we couldn’t have started any better. We played with pace, power, forward momentum, forward motion and our attacking threat was very, very strong.

“We find ourselves 2-1 up and they were well worked goals and we were causing them all sorts of problems and we were unfortunate not to get a third.”

The result means that Yeovil extend their unbeaten run against Exeter to seven matches having not lost since April 2016.

Giving more minutes to players under the age of 23 than any other side in the top four divisions, Way highlighted the importance of maturing and adapting quickly to avoid mistakes.

“We talked about our game plan against their game plan before the game and it is a team who normally makes the fewest mistakes.

“I felt that for the first 15 minutes were on the front foot and then we make a mistake which we have done in previous games and we find ourselves 1-0 down.

“Players need to learn fast and they need to be accountable and they need to accept that. Making mistakes does not mean that you are a failure, it just means that you are learning.

“If you are not at your game, League Two will eat you up and spit you out and they didn’t do that to our players today.”
