The Glovers kept hold of their 1-0 lead for 88 minutes after Courtney Duffus opened the scoring early on against Eastleigh on Tuesday night, with a battling display rewarded with a first win of the season.

Roared on by a crowd of almost 3,000 at Huish Park, Town’s boss is hoping to provide similar inspiration this time around.

Speaking to YTTV, he said: “When you look at those types of performances from Tuesday night, they’re draining performances emotionally and physically, but the players, supporters and manager even, have to take inspiration from those performances and hopefully that should energise us for Saturday.

“For us to be at our best we have to have high energy. We need to make sure that’s a fundamental aspect of our preparation ahead of Saturday because I thought the supporters reacted really well to a really energetic and determined performance, so we need to make sure we give the players every chance so we can reproduce that and inspire the supporters.”

At home for the second time in a week, the green and whites will be targeting back-to-back wins.

However, despite the midweek win over the Spitfires, Sarll is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

“I made a lot of mistakes when I was starting as a manager with the emotions of winning and the emotions of losing, and what we try and do here is try and stay as balanced as we can.

“Ten months in football is like a lifetime and I believe in what we do and regardless of the outcome of a game, I think you should be balanced and objective with what you do during the week, whatever happens.

“We constantly try and refer to a blueprint – we’re nowhere near getting close to completing that blueprint and there’s a lot of work to be doing on that and that’s just part one. Part two is about four years off I’m afraid but we’re trying to make sure we can do something very, very well before we move onto something else.”
