4th January 2019

After suffering a disappointing New Year’s Day defeat at the hands of Cheltenham Town, Huish Park will hope to see a first win of 2019 at the second time of asking.

Tom James’ fifth goal of the season wasn’t enough to avoid defeat as the Robins picked up a 4-1 win to continue Town’s wait for a win.

Needing three points to lift away from the bottom two the green and whites will have an altered looking squad to take on the Shakers.

Loanees Omari Patrick and Enes Mahmutovic returned to their parent clubs after finding game time limited in Somerset, whilst Wes McDonald left upon the expiry of his short-term contract with an ongoing hamstring problem.

It leaves Darren Way with 20 players to choose from with Omar Sowunmi (ankle), James Bailey (knee), Alex Pattison (back) and Korrey Henry (groin) unavailable. Gabby Rogers (ankle) is edging closer to fitness but may find Saturday comes too soon.

Striker Olufela Olomola is eligible for a final match before the expiry of his loan from Scunthorpe United.

For Bury, they head south in the midst of a fight for promotion as they sit fourth in the table.

Picking up a 3-1 win over Crewe at the weekend, Ryan Lowe’s side will be looking for back-to-back victories.

Head-to-head
Saturday will be the 12th meeting between the two sides since 1949.

The Shakers lead the way with eight wins to Town’s three, with no draws yet to be recorded.

A last Yeovil win over Bury came in 2012 when Byron Webster and Sam Foley were on target in a 2-1 win.

In the reverse fixture, Gold Omotayo’s 89th-minute strike was enough to see off nine-man Yeovil after Tom James and Jordan Green received their marching orders.

Officials
Nicholas Kinseley will be overseeing proceedings at Huish Park.

His 17th game of the season will be his first involving the Glovers this season having last been in charge of the 4-1 defeat at Stevenage in February.

On Saturday Mr Kinseley will be assisted by Justin Amey and Christopher Wade with Kevin Morris acting as fourth official.
