6th September 2019

Both Notts County and Sutton United were dispatched in BA22 to see the Glovers rise to ninth in the Vanarama National League table.

Back to winning ways, the green and whites will now look to carry on their run of form with a trip to top of the table Halifax.

The Shaymen returned from Chesterfield with three points in midweek to sit top of the tree in the fifth tier, extending their unbeaten run to five with four straight wins.

Looking to knock the hosts off their perch, Yeovil’s boss will have a healthy selection headache after bolstering his squad with the signings of goalkeeper Liam O’Brien and attacker James Tilley on Monday, whilst also welcoming back Craig Alcock from a one-match injury absence on Tuesday night.

Head-to-head

Saturday’s clash will be the first meeting between the two sides in 16 years.

Not facing each other since the Glovers earned promotion to the Football League in 2003, the green and whites will look to carry on where they left off against the Shaymen.

Winning 3-0 in the home match thanks to goals from Nick Crittenden x2 and Gavin Williams, a Kevin Gall hat-trick in the reverse fixture – including a stoppage time strike – earned a 3-2 win in March 2003 as promotion grew closer.

Officials

Overseeing proceedings at the Shay will be Joe Hull.

It will be his fourth National League match of the campaign having so far only awarded eight yellow cards.

He’ll be assisted by Martin Chester and Christopher Reeson with Darren Brown acting as fourth official.
