Founded initially in 1912 but reformed in 1989, Newport County play their home games at Rodney Parade.

Managed by former Sunderland Manager Terry Butcher, The Exiles sport a yellow and black home kit with red and white away colours.

County have actually appeared in the 1980-81 European Cup Winners’ Cup following their Welsh Cup win, entitling them a place into the prestigious competition.

They made it to the quarter-final stage but were eventually knocked out by German side Carl Zeiss Jena FC after two closely fought legs that ended 3-2 on aggregate.

However, darker days were to come. Demoted from League Two in 1988, the club subsequently disbanded but was reformed shortly afterwards at a much lower level.

Battling their way up the football pyramid, the Welsh side were promoted back into the Football League in 2013.

This week County signed former Town players Nathan Ralph and Seth Twumasi.

Distance from Huish Park: 76 miles (around one hour, 50 minutes).
