Founded in 1920, Morecambe played their home games at Christie Park until 2010 when they moved to their new home at the Globe Arena, with Sainsbury’s building a supermarket on the Shrimps old ground.

Managed by Jim Bentley, Morecambe are predicted to have a tough season in League Two.

Their current playing squad features some notable experience including 36-year-old journeyman winger Kevin Ellison, who has amassed more than 550 appearances for 13 clubs during nearly two decades in football. His knowledge of the game will surely be crucial for the coming campaign.

The Seasiders sport a red, white and black kit and they have played in the fourth tier of English football since their promotion from the Conference in 2010.
