23rd October 2014

At this evening’s YTFC Get Pedalling 2015 launch evening the grand total raised during the last ride was announced.

The aim was to raise £10,000 for each charity but the cyclists have smashed that target by raising £51,000! This means that St Margaret’s Hospice, Prostate Cancer UK and YTCST will each receive an incredible £17,000!

Get Pedalling committee member and one of the ride organisers Ben Tupman said: "When we set our target back in September 2013 the aim was to be able to raise £10,000 for each of these worthy charities.

"To be able to announce that we have raised £17,000 for each is truly humbling. The work that each of our 64 cyclists put in to, not only survive a gruelling trip, but raise such a phenomenal amount along with the efforts of the committee, sponsors and support team just goes to show the true spirit of Achieve By Unity.

"I am honoured to have been part of such an incredible event and hope that in 2015 we can achieve great things once again”
