Manager Gary Johnson was left elated with Kieffer Moore’s “complete” performance on Saturday after the young striker netted a fearsome strike in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.

Moore, who arrived at Huish Park in the summer from Dorchester, notched his fifth goal of the campaign against The Cherries with a contender for Yeovil’s Goal of the Season.

And the 20-year-old’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed by his manager.

“There were a couple of fantastic performances; not only was Kieffer Moore’s goal a great goal he had a complete game today, and I’m really pleased he showed people who weren’t sure about him what I was seeing in him.

“I’ve been telling him to shoot more because in training he is the best striker of a ball at the club and the goalkeepers don’t like going in goal when he’s smashing balls at them.

“He had an effort just before that which went straight at the keeper that stung his hands and he couldn’t keep hold of it so he needs to get into those positions more to have strikes.”

In fact, Johnson was left delighted with the whole team’s performance against Eddie Howe’s side, as the Glovers rediscovered their form after Tuesday night’s defeat at Charlton.

“I was pleased with Reuben Palazuelos (picured above), I was pleased with our departments; our defence played well, our midfield played well and our forwards played well. I can at least go home happy that my team looked like a Championship team.”

The Glovers now face the remaining four games in just two weeks, a schedule which Johnson believes needs to yield at least two or three victories.

“There are four games left but only two weeks of the season. Anyway, we go into it in a bit of form so who knows, I said that some teams could go through from now until the end of the season without winning a game and if that’s the case two or three wins would probably just suffice.”
