Manager Gary Johnson believes Yeovil “owe one” to Huddersfield after defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium back in December.

The reverse fixture ended with the Glovers on the end of a 5-1 thumping during the busy Christmas period, and Johnson hopes to exact some revenge on The Terriers on Easter Monday.

“We didn’t play very well that game, we couldn’t pick what we felt was our strongest team on the day. We started off well but then they got their game going and we couldn’t recover so we do owe them one.

“They were going very well at the time whereas at the moment they’re going through a little bit of a sticky patch even though they’ve got a good Championship side; Huddersfield won’t go down anyway, they’ve got enough points not to go down.”

Yeovil’s 0-0 draw at play-off chasing Blackburn on Friday and other results over the weekend mean the Glovers still sit five points from safety with three games remaining.

With 12 points still to play for, Johnson takes encouragement from the Glovers form during the conclusion to the season.

“We are still in it, even though a little while ago we didn’t think we would be. If you look at the away games and who we’ve had to play against in the last month or so they’ve been really difficult games but we’ve come out of them with flying colours even though they’ve only been a point here or there.

“Our form now at the end of the season is decent and I said it would be and I thought it would be. You’ve got to be proud of the boys and their work rate and the amount of effort that they put in to make sure we didn’t lose the Blackburn game. If we couldn’t win it, it was really important not to lose it.”
