Yeovil Town are confident of extending the loan deals of Everton duo Shane Duffy and John Lundstram according to manager Gary Johnson.

Central defender Duffy, who has featured in every game for the Glovers since arriving in September, and 19-year-old Lundstram who has netted once after arriving in Somerset last month have enjoyed positive talks between their parent club and the Glovers, leaving Johnson confident of securing their services.

“I will be very disappointed if after recent discussions we do not have Shane Duffy and John Lundstram for the remainder of the season, and that is a big coop for us.

“It is a great situation between us and Everton; we have provisionally put a deal together so that will start on the first of January. However, because you cannot register these deals before then you never know what might happen but both parties have agreed so the deal should go through,” said the Yeovil manager.

Since arriving at Huish Park both youngsters have started every single match in the SkyBet Championship, owed to their adjustment to the way things are done at Yeovil according to Johnson.

He said: “It is good for us because both Duffy and Lundstram are two really good young players and they have been ‘Yeovilified’. They trust us and we trust them so they are good signings to have if it all goes through, which I am sure it will.”

Duffy and Lundstram’s current deals are set to expire at the end of December.
