Yeovil Town manager Paul Sturrock has released more news on the hunt for new players during his recent press briefing.

Paul Sturrock said: “It’s a difficult time. We’re in limbo land as far as players and players agents are concerned. Players are on holiday, and they’ve got their speedos on and they’re swimming in the warm waters!

“But we have commitments from a number of players to sign contracts which will be effective from the first of July. So I have done quite a lot of work behind the scenes. As soon as we are able to, we will release the names. It’s very difficult to do, because people are still in contract with a football club.”

When asked about the prospects of Sam Foley and Kevin Dawson resigning the manager said: “That’s ongoing but we’re getting very close to that now. Sam is on holiday and doesn’t come back until the first of June. So we’ve been in talks with his agent, and things are progressing there. With the boy Dawson we’ve been talking to his agent and that’s gone a long way forward as well, and so I’m very confident on those two.”

The Gaffer was also very pleased to report that Terry Skiverton and Darren Way were very close to signing their contracts too.

“Well they have an insight into the football club. They’ve made it easier for me to come in and get started. They are very committed coaches and are very dedicated to the cause, and are good at their jobs.

“They’ve been allocated jobs that we’ll discuss when they sign their contracts, but they have certain things that they’ve been allocated to do and they look as if they’re going to be great assets to the football club.”
