Yeovil Town are delighted to confirm the signing of Daniel Leadbitter on loan from Newport County until the end of the season.

The right-back who has vast experience within the EFL with Bristol Rovers and Torquay, arrives to bolster Town’s defensive options.

Graduating from Newcastle’s academy in 2011, Leadbitter ventured southbound in the hunt for first team football, signing for Torquay United whilst the club were in League Two.

More recently, Leadbitter signed for Bristol Rovers in the 2014/15 season as the club bounced back to the Football League at the first time of asking.

Speaking after confirming his signature with the club, Daniel said “It’s really good to be here. Coming in and meeting the lads, seeing the atmosphere in the changing room, it seems really positive and that there’s a good group of lads here.”

The new loanee was already familiar with the club, being friends with Adam Smith who gave a glowing report; “He (Adam) raves about the place, he loves coming to work every day, well he doesn’t see it as work, none of us do.

“He loves coming here, and that sold it to me.”

Everybody at Yeovil Town would like to wish Leadbitter all the best during his time in Somerset.
