The midfielder became a popular figure at the Club, featuring 88 times for the Glovers across two spells in the 90s after signing from Hendon.
Under the tenure of Graham Roberts, Browne was an integral part of the squad which won promotion back to the Conference from the Isthmian League during the 1996/97 season.
After hanging up his boots, the former midfielder became an accomplished manager in non-league, managing the likes of Slough Town, Dover Athletic, Enfield Town and Potters Bar.
In fact, it was whilst Browne was in charge of Potters Bar that he reignited his link with Yeovil, recommending left-back Nathan Smith to the Glovers who was signed after a trial and has gone on to player over 200 times for the Green and Whites.
Sadly, Steve passed away on New Year’s Day after a battle with cancer. Everyone at Huish Park offers their condolences to Steve’s family.
