Another day and another signing through the doors at Huish Park as Iffy Allen becomes the 15th addition to Paul Sturrock’s new look squad.


You could be forgiven for getting lost with just who’s who – but fear not we have five things you need to know about Iffy so you can hit the ground running.

1) Iffy Allen is a 21-year old winger who has joined the Glovers on a one year deal from Barnet following his release in the summer.

2) Our new man’ full name is Ifeanyi Tafari Decosta Allen, we’ve already begun elocution lessons with the BBC Somerset commentators, but they, like us, will probably just use "Iffy"

3) Allen has recovered from a broken leg this time a year ago, a fractured fibula only kept the attacker out of action for a matter of weeks rather than months before returning to action.

4) The Lambeth born man was actually originally on the books of Fulham has a youngster before being told he was too small to make the grade with their full time squad – signing this deal back in the Football League has gone some way to proving that wrong!

5) During his spell in Non League with the Bees, he spent three spells out on loan to sides down the pecking order including Kingstonian, Redhill and the excellently named Wingate & Finchley.

Iffy Allen has been included in a number of pre-season friendlies as a trialist, but now you can come along and see him as a fully signed on member of the squad.
