Following on from the very well attended public consultations in January and the planning application recently submitted to South Somerset District Council, the club has now started the extended consultation.
The outline planning application is for proposed uses and access but does not include the detail and exact look of the buildings or the internals.  Instead, it focuses on the much needed proposed change of use of some of the stadium complex land and gives some illustrations of what the new facilities may look like at the northern stand.
In order to go to the next step as soon as possible we need an outline planning consent and to talk to stakeholders including fans, investors and the community.
The latter process has started with a meeting with Vice Presidents before the Bristol Rovers game at Huish Park.
The VPs were able to talk to the Club Chairman, John Fry, and our Planning Application Agent and Season Ticket Holder, David Bell, about a range of matters and concerns which varied from financial aspects such as the future viability of the football club to much needed facilities for fans.
David was able to bring VPs up to speed with matters such as covenants, proposed facilities, shorter term capital injection proposals and how that may be spent along with longer term revenue proposals.  He indicated that there is a lot of commercial interest in the proposals – not just in the retail but also the proposed clinic and the hotel where it would also be possible for the club to have an interest in matters such as ticket packages.
Afterwards, David commented "there was a wealth of experience in the room, not just in football but in other walks of life, and we are keen to keep the contact and debate going.  It is important that fans of all ages have opportunities to help shape and safeguard the future of the club."
Further Q&A sessions are being planned and will announced on ytfc.net when they are due to take place.
