England U16s followed their senior counterparts’ success in Glasgow by beating Scotland 2-1 in the Victory Shield on Thursday night.

Steve Cooper’s Young Lions wrapped up their Shield campaign at Yeovil Town’s Huish Park with a second win in the competition.

Goals in either half from Arsenal’s Joe Willock and Chelsea’s Martell Taylor-Crossdale, sandwiching Jack Thomson’s leveller for the Scots, capped a good night for England.

However, it was not enough to claim the trophy after Wales had earlier secured their first Victory Shield outright win in 66 years beating Northern Ireland 2-0.
