The striker came closest to breaking the deadlock when his header hit the crossbar midway through the second half, but the Glovers couldn’t find a breakthrough in front of the biggest crowd at Huish Park so far this season.

However the point came after back-to-back defeats and Eaves insists on another day it could have been all three.

“It was frustrating,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“I felt we were unlucky in the second half with my header off the bar. On another day you get a 1-0 win and that’s happened to us before.

‘We’re disappointed but there are positives to take out of the game.

“We didn’t concede and were pretty solid at the back. We had some good bits of play going forward and it was just that end product.

“It’s good to not get beat and on another day we could have won that game.”

Of the large crowd, Eaves commented: “It was a lot better atmosphere to play in. It was nice to see more bodies in the stands and you do feel and hear the support.

“It was good and it’ll be nice to see everyone back on Friday (against Portsmouth). Hopefully it’ll be a bit of a prettier game to watch!”
