The Glovers ran out 3-1 winners at Morecambe last Saturday, before battling to a last-gasp draw with Barnet at the Hive in midweek.

Former Bradford City man Dolan echoed boss Darren Way’s desire to finish the Sky Bet League Two campaign strong and feels if they continue in the same light as their previous two matches, they will do just that.

“The Morecambe win was massive for us because we needed,” Dolan told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“We’ve been saying we needed a performance and it had been coming.

“Against Barnet we deserved a lot more. It was a bit of a sucker punch them going 2-1 ahead with the set piece but we showed great character to bounce back from that and I’m delighted for Sheps to get his first goal.

“It was a goal of real quality and it just shows the fighting spirit we have. It shows we’ve got that backbone.”

He continued: “It shows the character of the team. The gaffer has mentioned hard work and the character we’ve got to show between now and the end of the season, and not let the season fizzle out.

“It’s a great testament to the boys to score late against Barnet and comeback from Morecambe getting a goal back against us on Saturday.

“I think we’ve got to show that character from now until the end of the season and finish the last nine games strong.”

Next up for Town are John Coleman’s in-form Accrington Stanley at Huish Park on Satuday (3pm).

A win would see the Glovers jump above the Lancashire club in the standings and Dolan thinks it could stand the club in good stead going into next season.

He said: “If we win we can jump ahead of Accrington and if we can stick a little run together going into the end of the season, it gives you a bit of momentum going into next season.

“We did that last year and started this season really well. It’s massive for us to keep the momentum going, keep our standards high because as footballers we don’t want to let this season fizzle out.

“We want to go on a run and put performances on for the fans, get them excited for this and next year.”
