Yeovil Town are delighted to announce that Darren Ward has extended his contract at Huish Park.

Defender Ward has penned a deal with the Glovers that will see him remain in Somerset until June 2017.

Since joining Yeovil on 8th November, the 37-year-old has made 12 appearances and has been made captain by manager Darren Way.

Manager Way said: “This is fantastic news for the football club. Since joining Darren has been a leader in dressing room and a leader on the pitch, you certainly need someone like that to go into battle with and achieve our objective of staying in the football league.

“Darren has proved that even at his age that he is a model professional and is as fit as they come. After the turnover of games over Christmas, he hasn’t missed a session or a minute’s action and wants to play for as long as he can and Yeovil Town will help him achieve that.”

“We have a lot of young players here that need help and guidance and Darren has been important in helping the younger players.”
