On the 10th May manager Gary Johnson recorded a good luck message for Yeovil Town fan Toby Gibbs from the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment who was serving in Afghanistan. (Clip below)
Whilst on patrol around Camp Bastion with his regiment the lorry Toby was traveling in drove over an IED, causing injuries to his leg and back. The IED blew the vehicle sideways, throwing him out causing him to suffer a fractured knee and two broken vertebrae in his back.
On hearing of Toby’s injuries the club have invited him as a guest to the Leicester City match next Tuesday and Gary Johnson has also invited Toby to join himself and the squad for lunch on Thursday 3rd October.
Gary said: "We were all really disappointed to hear about Toby’s injuries. We are all looking forward to seeing him at the Leicester City game and for lunch a couple of days later."
We all wish Toby a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him to Huish Park on Tuesday.
