Yeovil Town are delighted to confirm that Josh Staunton has extended his contract at the Club.

Signing a two-year deal, the midfielder is the first player to re-sign following the arrival of new manager Chris Hargreaves.

Staunton, who had his first season in Somerset majorly disrupted by injury, has bounced back excellently this term, making 33 appearances in the National League, and even managing the side on the last game of the season against Altrincham.

The 26 year-old also netted a memorable first time effort in the Glovers’ 2-0 away win against Wrexham in November 2021.

His commitment and determination has endeared himself to the Huish Park faithful, becoming a real fan favourite amongst the terraces.

Commenting after his signature was secured, Staunton said, “I’m delighted that it’s confirmed that I’m staying here.

“I came here to start something, unfortunately we haven’t done it in the last two years, but I’m excited to continue being part of the journey.

Manager Hargreaves also added, “I’m delighted that Josh has committed his future to the football club.

“Josh has established himself as a real leader during his spell here and shown great quality whilst on the pitch.

“I’m looking forward to working with him and send my congratulations to both him and his family.”
