The 22-year-old has been on trial at the club for the entirety of pre-season and has now penned a two-year contract at Huish Park.

Ex-Derby County man Santos has been involved in all of the Glovers’ friendlies and came off the bench in the game against his former team Bristol Rovers.

After extensive chats with manager Darren Way, the creative Brazilian is relishing the chance to repay him during the 2017/18 campaign.

“I’m delighted to be here and I’m looking forward to it,” Santos told YTFC’ iFollow.

“I’ve been here since July 1st and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s now time for me to get first-team football; the gaffer has given me that opportunity.

“It’s been hard because everyone has been asking if I’m signing, if I’m staying and I just had to try and say nothing!”

He continued: “The gaffer came to me and said he wanted me here which was a good thing for a player to know. In games I’ve played I’ve had to do my best and show him what I’ve got.

“He said he sees me in different positions – up front, on the wing and midfield where I’ve been in pre-season. He then said it was up to me and I didn’t think about it because I want to be here.

“I’ve had a taste of League Two with Bristol Rovers and now I’m looking forward to help the team shine and get them where we need to be.”
