27th December 2016

There were no goals but plenty of noise as Huish Park welcomed its biggest crowd of the season with 6,086 supporters in attendance.

It was also the largest turnout of the calendar year and was last bettered in the league back when Bristol City visited in March 2015 (6,591).

Another big crowd is anticipated for Town’s final match of 2016 against Portsmouth and Way would like to thank the fans for their continued support.

"It was great to have a large crowd for a derby game,” he told YTFC.net.

"The fans were unbelievable, created a good environment for the players to play in and made some good noise.

"They’ve been brilliant since I took over and I thank them for that. They will play a huge part if we’re to achieve great things this season.

"Another big crowd Friday against Portsmouth would be great because I know the players will give everything to end 2016 with a win.”
