The 2015/16 SkyBet Football League season is just around the corner and the principal sponsors have a whole host of exciting betting opportunities that we can look at for the entire season.

In this series of ‘Ben’s Bets’ we will take an in depth look at each division, in order and throw up a few markets that might be of value in the Ante Post category.

SkyBet have a promotion on at the moment where new customers can earn a FREE football shirt of their choice – of course, you’ll pick the nice new Yeovil one – but click HERE to sign up for SkyBet and take advantage of that brilliant introductory offer.

Yeovil Town Specials

Over the past four days, we here at YTFC.net have been looking at the betting markets for the entire Football League with the help of SkyBet, today we look at the specific bets available for Glovers fans to take advantage of.

Starting positively and Yeovil Town can be backed at 20/1 to win the league, with SkyBet reporting that Paul Sturrock’s men have been backed to the point where they have shortened the odds already this pre-season.

Other companies can still be seen to be offering odds of 33/1 for a Glovers title parade in May.

Of course, with four promotion positions available it’s not just the top spot that will see an immediate return to League One. You can bet on the Glovers to get promoted, however that may happen, at odds of 5/1 with the League’s principal sponsors.

The end of season lottery that is the play-offs means that even finishing 7th gives you a chance at glory in League Two and there’s a market for that too; Yeovil are 9/2 (Boylesports) to make the end of season shake up and 18/1 to win the Wembley showpiece back with SkyBet.

So, where does my allegiance lie with betting on the success of Yeovil town? I like the 9/2 on making the play-offs, but why stop there? It’s 7/1 on Yeovil gaining automatic promotion by finishing in the top three. Paul Sturrock’s positive attitude to signings and obvious supporter excitement allows me a few loyalty pounds on that particular bet.

Now, I know not everyone is as positive as I am and back-to-back relegations is hardly what you’d consider good form heading into the 2015/16 campaign.

So we’ll do this bit quickly – Yeovil are an alarmingly short 9/1 to get relegated into non-league and an unprecedented triple relegation.

Elsewhere it’s 5/6 on Sturrock’s side finishing in the top half, (10/11 top half finish) which would be a little less pessimistic than betting on another league drop.

In the individual market of Top Goal scorer SkyBet list three players from the Green and Whites in their market; Ryan Bird, Shaun Jeffers and Jamie Burrows.

Burrows, who signed from Rangers is available at 100/1, as is Jeffers with Bird at 50/1, of the trio, Bird is clearly more established and his experience in League Two should not be underestimated. Odds of 50/1 in a side that are being considered at doing well is not to be sniffed at.

I’ll be having a small each way bet on Ryan Bird being the top scorer in League Two at 50/1.

With just three strikers named on the list, we’ll be keeping an eye out for other names added as and when additional fire power is brought in to YTFC.

Finally, we have a chance to look at some of the more specific markets and those who read yesterday’s League Two round up, you’ll know that I consider Yeovil has having a great chance of being the highest finishing relegated side at 7/2.

Straying from SkyBet for just a second, you can bet on Yeovil being the ‘Top Southern Club’ at 10/1 with William Hill. That would involve finishing higher than Portsmouth, Oxford, Rovers, Cambridge, Plymouth and Exeter.

Fly over to the people at BetVictor and you can pit Yeovil against Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol Rovers in the ‘Top Southwest Club’ market. Odds are 11/4 that the Glovers top that mini league.

But here’s my top tip for the ‘Special’ section at SkyBet, you can bet on Yeovil winning their first three league games at 22/1.

A trio of wins against Exeter, Bristol Rovers and York should not be out of the question and those odds are just too good to turn down.

There we have it, a complete round of the betting offerings with my selections in bold and underlined.

I’ll be cheering on Yeovil with a couple of bets making the success of Paul Sturrock’s side all the better for me and my wallet… hopefully!
