With the international break fully behind us, the whole football league is back in action this coming Saturday and so, we’re back to a full house of three selections for Ben’s Bets.
We have possibly the most ambitious treble of the season so far with three away teams who could make for a tasty return.
Firstly, the Championship returns following a week off and we are backing against one of the bottom three, Bolton Wanderers.
They host a 10th placed Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and I think it could be an Owls win.
Wednesday have a 100% win record on the road and they face a Bolton side who have just one, single point.
With Blackpool and Fulham taking the headlines at the wrong end of the Championship it has gone unnoticed that Wanderers are in the same predicament following a shocking start to the season.
The Owls have increased fire power with Stevie May who scored a hat load north of the border.
Sheffield Wednesday to beat Bolton at 21/10
In League One, we are looking at a play-off side who face a side already looking at a long, hard relegation battle.
Preston North End, in 7th place, travel to 21st placed Walsall and I’m backing the away side.
PNE are unbeaten this season in the league and Walsall are without a win.  The Saddlers are somewhat draw specialists having tied four of their six games, but I think North End are too strong.
PNE have scored five on the road this season – a figure only bettered by Rochdale in the league and Walsall fans have only seen one home goal this term.
It’ll be tight, but I think a 1-0 away win might just be enough.
Preston North End to beat Walsall at 5/4
Finally, League Two takes us to a side that we have already backed this season with some success.
Cheltenham Town travel to Luton this Saturday and the stats and form table do suggest that the away side are the ones with value in their odds.
Cheltenham are, like Preston, unbeaten this term, a win on Saturday could take the side top and with Burton having a tougher task against York that could well be possible.
Compare that with Luton who have just one the one win this season. That win was away from home, against Carlisle who have been in free fall and it was way back on the opening day of the season.
Luton are favourites for the match and so this would technically be considered a shock result for the odds compilers, thus making it huge value.
Cheltenham to beat Luton at 9/5
Those three when placed in a treble have total combined odds of over 18/1. That seems like a huge price for three sides in form.
Placing £5 on that treble returns £97. But at those odds, I wouldn’t put off anyone covering doubles too, just in case one side lets us down.
As always, the stake is flexible to your own comfort and betting pattern.
Yeovil Special
The Glovers are on the road themselves this weekend and playing Coventry away at their ‘proper’ home of the Ricoh Arena is no easy task.
But, again, the stats can back up the away side. Yeovil are unbeaten in four and off the back of a very impressive win at Bradford.
Add to that, the Glovers won on their only visit to the Ricoh and are undefeated against the Sky Blues in competitive action.
So, we have to be positive here. Ajay Leitch Smith is 7/1 to open the scoring, or 12/5 to score at any point like last weekend.
For reference, another Aaron Martin brace is 80/1…
But my bet selection is in the “Winning Margin” bet.
Yeovil to win by exactly one goal is 7/2, that would cover you for a 1-0 win, a 2-1, or even 3-2.
