As many of you will know, Prostate Cancer UK is the Official Charity Partner of the EFL. Their ‘Man of Men’ logo sits proudly in the squad numbers of every one of our player’s shirts.

Prostate Cancer UK’s ‘Man of Men’ represents everyone who wants to stop prostate cancer being a killer. It’s a badge proudly worn by Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling and his fellow pundits week in week out on Soccer Saturday. 

How can you help? This June, Prostate Cancer UK will again be recruiting an army of walkers across the country after new figures have shown the number of men dying from prostate cancer has overtaken the number of women dying from breast cancer, making prostate cancer the third biggest cancer killer in the UK.

To combat these latest stats the charity will be heading to a number of locations, including Bristol, on Sunday 17 June at Blaise Castle Estate. Providing a choice of distances – circa 2k, 5k, or 10k – participants are encouraged to fundraise through sponsorship in their own bid to beat the disease.

Ted Wood, from Warmley in Bristol says: “When I first found out I had prostate cancer I didn’t believe it. I didn’t have any symptoms and I was very active. I put my tiredness down to working long hours. My outlook on life since my diagnosis has definitely changed, I value things more now and I want to help other men.

“I’m planning to take part in Prostate Cancer UK’s Bristol March for Men this year because I want the money raised from the event to go towards a more reliable test to detect prostate cancer.”
