The versatile forward spent pre-season as a trialist with the club before putting pen to paper and signing a one-year deal.

Scoring his first goal for the Glovers in the 3-1 win over Notts County last weekend, the 24-year-old is cautiously optimistic about the team’s prospects.

“The squad feels settled,” he told YTTV. “I think we could have performed a bit better so far, but we’ve bonded together well. The atmosphere around the dressing room is good and we’ve all bonded together.

“Sometimes things click into place straight away, sometimes it takes time to gel. To understand the runs of players its always going to take a few games. With a whole new set of boys, it’s never going to be something that comes together straight away.

“After winning two games on the bounce it looks like we’re on our way there, but we need to make sure everybody is focused and concentrating on going forward and achieving the end goal.”

Consecutive wins has lifted Darren Sarll’s side to ninth in the National League table ahead of Saturday’s trip to table toppers FC Halifax Town.

Heading to the Shay full of confidence, the attacker is not willing to rest on his laurels and is instead desperate to kickstart the green and whites’ journey back to the Football League.

“Personally for me, I want to get this club back into league football. I haven’t played league football in England yet. Overall as a club, it’s what the manager wants, it’s the same, we all want to get promoted.

“Hopefully when we look back at the season we aren’t left feeling we’ve dropped points in certain fixtures, hopefully we can instead look forward with what we learned from them and the games where it didn’t look like we’d get a win or a draw but we came back with something.

“Hopefully we can go on a run now, climb up the table and hopefully be in a good spot by Christmas.”
