Yeovil Town’s annual Golf Day was played at the immaculate Sherborne Golf Club yesterday.

Players, staff and former players joined 20 teams for the stableford competition in lovely conditions in Dorset.

Commercial Manager Dave Linney said: "I would like to thank everyone at Sherborne Golf Club for accommodating us for yet another successful Golf Day.

"The course was in perfect condition and I’m sure everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed their day, no matter how badly some played!"

The competition was won by Paul Thorpe, Craig Turner, Paddy and Craig Bell with 94 points.

In second place with the same score but losing out on a poorer back nine were Luke Ayling, Joe Edwards, Ben Tupman and David Maslen.

The Nearest the Pin challenge on the three par 3 holes went to Tim Porter, D. Porter and Martin McConachie.

The celebrity winner was former Glover Tom White who scored an impressive 40 points.
