The Cherries youngster becomes Town’s 10th summer signing and arrives in time for the Sky Bet League Two opener at Luton Town on Saturday.

Surridge scored eight goals in 10 appearances on loan at Poole Town last term and was promoted to Eddie Howe’s first-team having continued goal scoring form for Bournemouth Under-21s.

The 19-year-old was an unused substitute for the Premier League outfit at Huish Park on Wednesday night but has featured heavily throughout pre-season, travelling to the club’s 10-day Marbella training camp last month.

Swapping red and black for green and white, the Wimborne-raised striker follows in the footsteps of Brandon Goodship, Harry Cornick, Josh Wakefield, Ben Whitfield and Matt Butcher in arriving from the Vitality Stadium on loan.

Cherry number six to land in Somerset, Bournemouth boss Howe was pleased to continue the relationship between the two clubs, speaking after the midweek friendly.

He said: “It’s very important when you have a big squad as we have had in recent seasons and we’ve got talented young guys coming through that they have a place to play, and a good home with good people.

“We feel that Darren (Way) and Terry (Skiverton), who we’ve known for a long time are really good people, and good coaches. I think it’s an excellent club, so we have no hesitation in sending our best players there.”

Adding more firepower to his frontline, Glovers manager Darren Way was equally delighted to capture Surridge’s services.

“Sam first came to our attention last January, and we feel this next move is a fantastic move for Sam and Yeovil Town,” he told YTFC.net.

“I’m sure he’ll follow on from the previous loanees we’ve had from Bournemouth in enjoying the environment here, and we must thank Eddie Howe for his comments last night and for trusting us with the development of his young talent.”
