Speaking to YTTV, the new number one couldn’t wait to be back: “I’m buzzing to get everything sorted and get back into the swing of things.

“We had a little taste of it about a month ago, I just can’t wait to be back in now.”

Smith will know he has the full confidence of Darren Sarll, who was delighted to secure his signature for the season: “Adam is first and foremost a really brilliant character.

“We have a great faith that we can drag that little bit extra out of him, now is a really good time for that as he’s had some indifferent experiences.

“We feel now he’s at his most hungry and urgent to have a good year, so I’m really pleased we can get him in.”

Everybody at Yeovil Town wishes Adam all the best during his time at Huish Park.
